As new MCUs based on the ARM Cortex M4 core keep coming in, MCU pioneer ST Microelectronics released a few weeks ago its own Cortex M4 family of products.

In our last post, we were comparing MCUs at the low end of the spectrum at ST and NXP. While we did not have a clear winner – NXP’s LPC1225 was priced lower, but ST’s STM32L151C8 had a USB port and additional features, it was difficult to understand whether we had better value for our money with one part or another.
One way to alleviate the pain of comparing value is to model the price of each major feature and use it to map each feature difference into a price difference.
